BALL METRICS
CARRY DEVIATION DISTANCE/ANGLE
The distance/angle between the target line of a shot and the estimated location where it first makes impact with the ground, assuming the ground is perfectly flat.
LAUNCH ANGLE
The vertical angle at which the ball is traveling at impact.
LAUNCH DIRECTION
The angle at which the ball is traveling at impact in relation to the target line.
BACKSPIN
A measurement of how quickly a ball is spinning backwards (towards you) after impact. Using a club that generates loft and a negative attack angle can produce a shot with more backspin.
CLUB HEAD METRICS
CLUB SPEED
The velocity of the golf club right before impact.
CLUB FACE
The angle that the face of the golf club is pointing at impact in relation to the target line.
ATTACK ANGLE
The angle the club head is moving towards or away from the ground when it makes impact with the ball. Shots hit off the ground should have a negative attack angle. For drives, a positive attack angle is desired to maximize distance.
CLUB PATH
The angle that the head of the golf club is traveling at impact in relation to the target line.
